Mathematics Education

The program of mathematics education started to train and develop superior secondary school mathematics teachers in 1964 within the Department of Mathematics. This program grew and developed into an independent Department of Mathematics Education in 2009. The department aims on cultivating professional research personnel and excellent middle and high school teachers who will lead the future of mathematics education, and trains theories and practical experiences mathematic teachers must have. In order to cultivate teachers with multiple expertise, the department provides professional lectures about fundamental mathematical concepts and processes, the development of mathematics curriculum materials, and teaching methods applicable to a variety of age levels, interests, and aptitudes.

Career Opportunities

After graduation, most graduates teach math in secondary schools. Besides becoming teachers, they can further their study to become professors, researchers, finance experts after completing a master's or a doctor's degree.

Technology Education

The technology education program will help you to become a technology teacher or an expert of technology education through the combination of classes with various experience. In addition to developing theoretical and practical knowledge of the technology (manufacturing technology, construction technology, transportation technology, information and communication technology, and biotechnology), you will develop your ability to teach the technology for students. The department of technology education was established in 1981 for the first time in Korea. And it has nurtured technology teachers who would lead technology education in the future. Recently, it is a proud of our program that the highest percentage of successful applicants in teacher certification examination in Korea. Our program is a mecca for the technology education in Korea and we would be with competitive edge not only in Korea also in the international society.

Career Opportunities

After the first graduates in 1985, more than 99% of graduates have worked as technology teacher in middle school, public officials in the Ministry of Education, professional engineering researchers and university professors.

Construction Engineering Education

The Department of Construction Engineering Education was founded in 2009 in response to the demands of domestic university development and educational reform. The main objective of the Program in this Department is to prepare, train and educate students to become a good teachers with ability in the technical high school through undergraduate programs. The Department of Construction Engineering Education provides undergraduate students with the curriculum for construction education theory, construction engineering and experiment-practice related architecture and civil so that let them train technical high school students as a worker(technician) in the construction fields. Additionally, this Department will be a great contributor to the professional educator training and policy development through graduate programs.

Career Opportunities

After graduation, students get a teacher's certificate and will be appointed in a technical high school. In addition, they will enter the graduate schools in Korea and abroad, and will work in the construction companies, government and public offices as engineer and education expert.

Department of Chemical Engineering Education

The department of Chemical Engineering Education was founded in 1977, and separated in 2006 as Division of Industrial Education. In 2009, The Department of Chemical Engineering Education was started as College of Education to cultivate students to be professionals who are able to play a leading role in educational innovation.

Chemical engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the application of physical science (e.g. chemistry and physics), and life sciences (e.g. biology, microbiology and biochemistry) with mathematics, to the process of converting raw materials or chemicals into more useful or valuable forms. In addition to producing useful materials, modern chemical engineering is also concerned with pioneering valuable new materials and techniques such as nanotechnology and biomedical engineering. Chemical engineering largely involves the design, improvement and maintenance of processes involving chemical or biological transformations for large-scale manufacture.

The department focuses on practical education as well as broad knowledge of major studies for students to become competent teachers after graduation by providing education based on academic theories and their practical study in both the fields of Chemical Engineering and Education. The students will acquire theoretical backgrounds and skills teach Chemical Engineering/Textile Engineering with Teacher Certification for secondary schools at the end of their course work. In addition, students can obtain an additional Teaching Certificate through the Integrated Program. A majority of our graduates teach Chemical Engineering/Textile Engineering at secondary schools and make a great contribution to educational development in actual teaching situations.

Career Opportunities

And the company was on-site laboratories, national laboratories, government companies, government officials, including its views of various related companies is very bright, particularly as many graduates are entering high school teacher.
