Summer Session for International Students (SSIS) is a short term program for students having interests in attending academic courses and experiencing Korean culture throughout 2 or 7 weeks in summer.
Eligibility
- Undergraduate or graduate students who are enrolled in a matriculated institution
- Students must apply through their home university.
Program Details
Session 1: Mid-June to early-August (7 weeks)
- Two academic courses (Korean Language and an elective course)
- Field trip to Korean traditional heritage
- Cultural activities such as learning Tae Kwon Do, making seal, craft, Korean food, or playing traditional instrument
- Summer break (1 week)
Session 2: End-July to early-August (2 weeks)
- Korean Language
- Cultural activities such as learning Tae Kwon Do, making seal, craft, Korean food, or playing traditional instrument
Registration Fee (as of 2016)
- Session 1: 300,000KRW
- Session 2: 150,000KRW
- Students from non-partner institutions need to pay 1,000,000KRW for Session 1 or 500,000KRW for Session 2.
- The cost is subject to increase every year.

Admission Requirements
- 1. Application
- Applicants must complete CNU Inbound Exchange/Visiting Student Application
- 2. Certificate of Enrollment
- Certificate of Enrollment is a document issued from an applicant’s home institution that states the applicant is officially matriculated at the institution.
- 3. Official Transcript
- 4. Recommendation Letter
- Applicants can submit a letter of recommendation either from an academic professor or academic advisor at an international office of home institution
- 5. Passport Copy
- Applicants must hold a passport which is valid until the program ends.
- 6. All documents need to be submitted through their home institution.
- 7. (After admission) Certificate of Health
- Applicants are required to show their physical health status free from Tuberculosis as they will be residing in a student dormitory.
