Refer the CNU website for the correct application due date.

The deadlines can be moved up due to time limitation.
If any published application deadline date falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, complete applications and all supporting documents will be accepted on the immediately following Monday.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Master's Degree Program
    • To be admitted as a graduate student, an applicant must have obtained a bachelor’s or higher degree, prior to the start of the CNU term for which the student is admitted, from an accredited college or university or the equivalent degree from a recognized international institution.
  • Doctoral Degree Program
    • To be admitted as a graduate student, an applicant must have obtained a master or higher degree, prior to the start of the CNU term for which the student is admitted, from an accredited college or university or the equivalent degree from a recognized international institution.
  • Integrated Master’s & Doctoral Degree Program
    • To be admitted as a graduate student, an applicant must have obtained a bachelor’s or higher degree, prior to the start of the CNU term for which the student is admitted, from an accredited college or university or the equivalent degree from a recognized international institution.
  • Evaluation of Academic Proficiency

    • The admission will be determined by initial document review & the interview.
    • Evaluation is done based on an overall evaluation of applicant´s attitude, academic proficiency and aptitude for desired major.
    • The basis of the evaluation is the documents submitted by the applicant.
    • Application Fee (Non-refundable)

      Required Documents

      • Application Form (After completing the online application, print it out)
      • Essay of your study objective
      • Personal statement
      • Recommendation for admission from your university professor
      • Transcripts and Certificate of Graduation from Colleges or Universities Attended
        • Master’s degree candidate : official transcript, certificate of graduation (undergraduate)
        • Doctoral degree candidate : official transcript, certificate of graduation (graduate)
        • Integrated master’s and doctoral degree candidate : official transcript, certificate of graduation (undergraduate)
      • Certificate for Language Proficiency: Level 4 or higher in TOPIK, or the minimum score of TOEFL(iBT 71), TOEIC 700, IELTS 5.5, New TEPS 327
        • English test scores are accepted only by applying for the test within the last two years.

      • Copy of passport
      • A copy of applicant’s and parents’ citizenship ID card & Notarized certificate of family relationship
      • Documents related to financial support
        • Affidavit of Financial Support (available on the CNU admissions website)
        • Sponsor's Bank Certificate with a balance of more than KRW 16,000,000
        • Sponsor's Certificate of Employment or Certificate of Business Registration
      • If tuition fees are paid by the CNU prospective academic professor

          • A CNU prospective academic professor's affidavit of support
          • A CNU prospective academic professor's certificate of employment
          • A Confirmation Letter for Prearranged Scholarship Grant from dean/president of CNU
      • For Applicants who apply to Fine Arts, Music, or Physical Education department : Portfolio of performances
      • Additional material, if any, can be required by the department.

        All educational documents must be officially verified (Apostille certificate or verification from Korean embassy/consul)

        All the official documents not in English or in Korean must be translated into English or Korean notarized.

        Additional Documents for Chinese Applicants ONLY

          • Copy of ID Card of Applicant and His / her Parents
          • Government-issued Family Census Register
          • Notarized Certificate of Family Relationship
